OZRACE - OZNOS Camaro News
How good is the BOSS?

As explained on our "NEW PRODUCTS" page, we have started racing an AMCA National speedway car in the 2000/2001 season. Well, at the annual
presentation night in July 2001, Rob Madden was awarded the "ROOKIE of THE YEAR 2000 - 2001" trophy. Seems like you can teach an old guy new
tricks and who said drag racers don't know how to turn corners.
In the 2002/2003 season Rob came second in the annual points score. With WSID (Western Sydney International Dragway) he has handed the wheel
to the AMCA over to his daughter Michelle to go play.
The good news is that we have a new OZRACE/OZNOS Reasearch and
  Development Vehicle.
As we advise our customers, we will run this car till we are happy
  with it's naturally aspirated performance.
Only then we will we start using the nitrous.

We ran the car for the first time the first week in February and
Then at the WSID opening meeting.
As mentioned above we are not using Nitrous as yet.
That week the car ran a best of 8.27 seconds and 163.91 mph
  (263.79 kph).
This is with a single 4 barrel Big Block Chevrolet. Keep watch we
think we can make that combination run quicker.
On 10th. April we ran the car at WSID and ran a best of 8.18 seconds
  at 163.77 mph (263.57 kph).
Once again keep watching for even better times and speeds to come.

Well it is really starting to happen. The OZRACE Camaro has now run a best
of 8.17 second 1/4 mile ET. and a terminal speed of 165.94 mph (267.06 kph).

Ron's Terminator  Product information on New Products Page.
  22nd. August 2004
We put a Ron's Terminator onto our Camaro on a Test and Tune day at WSID.
That morning we ran the car with the Holley Dominator and ran a Personal
Best of 8.11 seconds at 166.52 mph (267.99 kph).
Back in the pits we put the Ron's Terminator on took it out an hour
after the first run and ran an 8.16 seconds at 165.07 mph (265.66 kph).
The air was not quite as good with a density altitude just over 150 foot
 (45.75 metres) higher.

We are very impressed as we ran the Terminator straight out of the box,
only adjusting the idle speed prior to the run.
It took nearly 6 months to get the Dominator to run the 8.11

October 16 Test Day
We took the Camaro to WSID for a test day, with a tune up and rear end gears to suit running nitrous. We ran the car naturally aspirated and
ran an 8.38 seconds @ 156.83mph (252.39kph).
Last meeting with the current combination we ran an 8.24 seconds @ 161.46mph (259.85kph).
At the test day we ran an OZNOS single plate progressive kit (Part No.80090 and 80010) resulting in a 7.77 seconds @174.17mph (280.30kph).
And that was not using all the nitrous horsepower available from the above part numbers fitted. ENOUGH SAID.

  June 19 2005 Nostalgia Meeting
What a great day, we didn't win the meeting, but ran a personal best of 7.66 seconds
  at 176.14mph (283.47kph).
This was done with tha same jets as the October 2004 Test Day, but we decided to do a
bit of fine tuning at this low key meeting.
And yes, nitrous cars can be consistent, the last two runs were 7.640 at 176.03mph and
  7.669 at 176.14mph.

So if you are an OZNOS user, we can advise you how to also how to run this consistent.

Sept 16 -18 2005 East Coast Nationals Meeting
The Camaro is getting quicker even if it is in only small increments.
At this meeting over the three days with different weather conditions from day to day
and at different times during the day, the Camaro ran it's best time and speed to date
of 7.640 @ 176.40mph (283.89kph) and a 7.693 @175.59 was the worst run.
We actually did six runs over the three days. The other runs were: 7.656 @ 176.03, 7.656 @ 175.27, 7.677 @ 175.41 and 7.679 @176.79
As can be seen from these times that a nitrous car is very consistent
when set up properly.

In late 2005 we decided to improve our at track comfort and bought a Motorhome and built an all aluminium trailer to carry the Camaro
and the Golf Cart.

Also a very good way to promote our very supportive sponsors.

We also purchase a 698 cubic inch Mountain Motor out of America. This engine was bought from a reputable engine shop that had supposedly freshened
it.
We had it air freighted so as to not have too much down time from racing. When it arrived, we did a leakdown test and found up to 64% leakdown – I
will NEVER purchase a used engine from overseas again. We rebuilt the engine using the same parts and got a 36% leakdwon figure in the worst cylinder.
To cut a long story short, we spent all that money to run a 7.41 second ET, ONLY 0.23 seconds better than the 555 motor with the OZNOS plate system.

2008 Mid Year News
The 706 cubic inch motor is once again being freshened for the 2009 season with some improvements being carried out.

As stated earlier, we can also help make your race car run consistent with OZNOS technology.
